The Holy House School

Watch the video clip below to have a glimpse of our little school, opened in July 2017

Fundación  ¡Vivan Los Niños–Our Little School

In July this year (2017) Funvini opened its own little school. Although eventually it is planned to have 3 different groups in the school, lack of space at Casa Walsingham means that for the moment it is only possible to have one group of 15 boys and girls. These young people either come from the street, or work in the street, or are teenage mothers who can bring their babies to school with them if necessary. The school is designed to fit around the needs of the young people and gives them the chance to have an education and gain their school certificate. When money and space allow, the plan is to have another class for the children with special needs and one for the choir. Our dream is to be able to build our own school one day——-we are praying for that.

The work our young people do will be validated by designated State Schools and when they finally graduate they will be presented with their Bachillerato–their High School Certificate.

Congratulations to three young mums who have graduated from High School!
Friday, 19th July 2019 was High School Graduation Day for three of Funvini’s young mums. These were María Camila (aged 16, pictured with her son Matius, aged 2); Estefanía Janeth (aged 16, pictured with her son Matías, aged 1); and Leidy Daniela ( aged 18, pictured with her 11-day-old daughter, Oriana).  All three girls revived a special recognition of Commitment and Perseverance; and Estefanía was also given one for Academic Excellence. Leidy Daniela has been involved in Funvini’s programmes since she was 8 years old. Also in the photo are three of Funvini’s Educators who attended the Graduation ceremony.
They bring to 7 the total of youngsters ( 3 boys and 4 young mums) who have now been able to graduate from High School thanks to the flexible hours and supportive staff of Funvini’s School Project at Casa Walsingham, which is funded by Let The Children Live! With this vital qualification they will be able to enter vocational training, and they now stand a much better chance of building a good future for themselves and their children.
Their High School Diplomas were issued by INDECAP, the ‘umbrella institution’ which had been assigned to Funvini by the educational authorities until Let The Children Live! has raised the funds to enable  Funvini’s Escuela de la Casa Santa (Holy House School) to be registered in its own right.
